A practical session of Movement(s) for the feminine body, designed to support the natural flow of the monthly hormonal cycle. This 1 hr movement class is based on the 4 phases of the female monthly hormonal cycle, movement can be a powerful tool to enhance the strengths and peculiarity of each phase of the female hormonal cycle, helping us to make the best of our natural energy flow.
This class leads participants through a series of movement and postures (drawn from Yoga, Pilates and other somatic approaches) to suit each of the 4 monthly hormonal phases: menstruation, pre-ovulation, ovulation, pre-menstrual.
A yoga mat and some simple additional props are required (the full list will be provided upon registration). It is recommend to attend this class in a space that allows free movement whilst lying on the floor.
Welcome and introduction
Monica completed her Pilates Teacher training in 2007 at Trinity Laban, specialising in injury rehabilitation.
She has worked at some of the most renowned Pilates Studios in London (Trinity Laban, Kings Cross Studio, The Third Space…) and subsequently trained as a Thai Massage Therapist (2012) with The London School of Thai Massage, and later on with Master Pichest Boonthumme (Chiang Mai, Thailand).
She furthered her Anatomy studies for movement with Gary Carter of Natural Bodies (2013) and has a professional background in Physical Theatre and teaches Contact Improvisation (contemporary dance technique).
Since 2012 Monica has run her own practice in South East London.
