Overview

Reflective Practice for your Mental Health First Aiders can offer vital support in helping MHFAs to think about what they need if they are finding the role difficult ar are feeling stuck Reflective Practice helps MHFAs be clear on boundaries and responsibility providing them with space to reflect on their feelings about their work and to think about their role in a safe, contained and confidential group. Reflective Practice supports your company wellbeing lead who is the first port of call for any MHFA queries. It helps highlight organisational needs and makes suggestions on how to make your MHFA structure safer. Helps MHFAs explore how to work through things e.g. COVID and helps them be more engaged in the new normal to promote themselves within their organisation. We recommend monthly, bi-monthly or quarterly sessions. As a Psychotherapeutic Supervisor and an Accredited member of the BACP, I adhere to the BACP’s code of ethics and framework for good practice. Reflective Practice with a qualified supervisor offers MHFAs a reflective, confidential and safe space in which to discuss and think about their practice and therefore benefits their own mental health as well as any client safety. Reflective Practice occurs on a monthly, bi-monthly or quarterly basis.
